Our Mother, Irene, died suddenly and very unexpectedly in hospital on 26 April 2023. She will be extremely missed by her two children - Karen and Alexis, by Alexis' two daughters - Iona and Maya, and by many people in and around Hildenborough (where she had lived for 51 years!).
Irene had a strong Christian faith and it showed in every aspect of her life. She had been very active in St John's Church in the Village and was involved in many areas of outreach.. Despite the fact that  she led a very fast and active life, Irene ALWAYS found the time for people. She would listen if you had problems, help you if you needed it, or just be there for you. She often drove people to Church, the doctor's, the hospital, got their shopping, loved cooking and having guests-again Irene was just present whenever people needed her. Nearly all of her time was devoted to other people with an incredible willingness and unselfishness.
She also loved the Farmers Market, where she would help out whenever necessary, and always looked forward to Tuesday mornings!
There is now a big hole in lots of people's lives, but that hole will be filled by memories and thankfulness. Thank you, Irene, for being our Mother, Grand-mother and friend.
Irene's funeral will be on Thursday 8th June 2023 at 2.30pm at St. John's Church in Hildenborough, followed by her burial in the Churchyard.
Refreshments will be served in the Church Hall afterwards. Karen and Alexis would love to get to knowm. Irene's friends (we heard lots of names when we spoke over the phone!) so don't be shy----please introduce yourselves to us!
